• Classic Airframes has announced the release of a second TA-4J Skyhawk kit which should be available in a few days. It includes markings for four aircraft - CV-1, Blue Angels, Bicentennial Flight & Israeli Air Force. Box art and colour schemes have been posted to the Preview Page. This new release will contain additional new resin parts for the small details of the Israeli Air Force, new type ejection seats and resin flaps. The MSRP will be $59.00. Artwork of the box art may also be seen on the Forthcoming Releases page of Classic Airframes website.

• ...and while we are on the subject, Bob Aikens brings us a new Feature Article on building Monogram's venerable 1/48 scale OA-4M Skyhawk as a Brazilian AF-1A, including plenty of montage and vignette images.

• I am very pleased to launch our new HyperScale Resource Guide to Building the English Electric Canberra. This is a 29 page booklet with 77 images and nearly 10,000 words.
  
  The Guide is entirely free to HyperScale's visitors.
  
  The focus of this guide is the new Airfix 1/48 scale Canberra B(I).8, but there are also Chapters covering construction of the Xtrakit, Classic Airframes and High Planes kits. The downloadable PDF format will permit modelers to print the booklet and use it as a workbench reference while building your Canberra.

• Today I review Eduard's brand new 1/48 scale Royal Class Bf 110 C/D/E package, which includes new plastic parts to build a Bf 110 D with the long "boat tail", a Bf 110 E/Trop, or an E Night Fighter with radar. A 1/4 scale super detailed Bf 110 instrument panel and a full scale replica Iron Cross are also included. 32 images of the various parts accompany the review text.

• Rob Baumgartner reviews the much anticipated Eduard Limited Edition 1/48 scale "Der rote Flieger", containing Fokker Dr.I & Albatros D.V kits, von Richthofen figures, and 1/3 scale Pour le Mérite.  Around 30 photos of the kit's plastic, resin and photo-etched parts, plus images of the marking schemes and decals, are included in Rob's big review.

• Derek Derks returns with a short new article entitled Rotor Power Rescue, featuring his Fujimi 1/72 scale CH-46D USN & HH-46A USMC. Eight images are included.

• Artur Osizlo has sent nine images of his 1/48 scale Tamiya Mustang Mk.III, detailed with the Aires multimedia set.

• Rodger Kelly examines Victory Productions' newest decal sheet, "F9F-2 Panther". Images of the decals and instructions are included.

• Mick Evans reviews six new 1/72 scale cockpit and airframe releases from Pavla for the MIG 25 RB/RBT, SAAB Draken, F105D Thunderchief, Hawker Hunter F.Mk.3, Eurofighter Typhoon Twin Seat, and EE Lightning Mk.6.

• A new model company, Antarki Aircaft Models from Peru, will focus on 1/48 military aircraft models from the golden age of aviation and unusual subjects. Aircraft of Peru, Italy and France will be a primary interest. Antarki's first offering will be the Douglas Model 8A; a full resin kit, including photo etched, metal and vacuform parts. Markings will be for Peruvian, Norwegian and Dutch versions. A tentative release date of September 2008 is planned. A price has not been determined, but Antarki hopes to be quite competitive for a resin kit. The next offering will be the North American NA-50, with parts for the P-64 fighter.

• Tonight I review and build the new Platz 1/144 scale P-47D "Bubble Top" kit. The review includes images of the kit parts, box top and decals, plus photos of the model under constuction.

• Classic Airframes has announced a Special Commemorative Edition IPMS 1/48 scale Grumman Widgeon kit that will be available at the IPMS USA Nationals in Virginia Beach this August. This kit will only be available direct from Classic Airframes. More information will be available in the coming weeks.

• On Missing-Lynx, Andrew Judson builds Trumpeter's new 1/35 scale LAV Command Vehicle with two Hornet figures in a new article with ten images.

• Ian Murray presents four photos of his 1/35 scale Berlin Brigade Chieftain Mk.9c based on Tamiya's kit with additional parts from Castoff.

• Henry Liu has sent 16 images of his 1/35 scale Dragon T-34/85 for the Gallery.

• Classic Airframes announces a pair of all-new 1/48 scale Heinkel He 51 kits due for release around the time of the IPMS USA Nationals. Images of the attractive box art have been posted to Classic Airframes' website.

• On Testor's ScaleWorkshop, I have posted three images of my new Airfix 1/48 scale English Electric Canberra B(I).8, finished with my Testor Aztek airbrush. We will be seeing a lot more of this model in the coming weeks.

• We have four images of Bin Wang's 1/48 scale Hasegawa Aichi D3A1 Val, photographed at last weekend's NSW Scale Model Expo.

• Rodger Kelly spent a day aboard USS Tarawa recently, and took plenty of photos of the LHA and her air wing. Rodger has written a report on his day out, and provided 30 images.

• Glen Porter reviews Valom's new 1/72 scale B-26A and Marauder Mk.I kits, including images of the kits' plastic parts, resin, photo-etch, decals and box tops.

• Montex has sent imformation and images of their new and forthcoming releases, including a 1/32 scale resin Fury Mk.II, Fairey Fawn and Vickers Viking. New masks include sets for the new 1/24 scale Vintage Fighter Series P-47D. Darek has also included images of a built-up 1/32 scale Fury Mk.I by Borys Szczypka.

• There are more progress photos and completed models on the current HyperScale Group Build, "Century Series". I really had better get started on my F-111 while I still have time!

• Tonight I examine two new products from RB Productions:

  • 1/32 scale Messerschmitt Bf 109 K-4 Wheel Well, and

  • 1/32 scale WWII USAAF / USN Seat Belts. Images of the assembled parts are included in both reviews.

• Mick Evans reviews Freightdog Models' 1/48 scale decal release, "Brits at Sea Pt.1, Immediate Post-War FAA". Mick's review includes a description of the eleven subject and an image of the cover.

• Eli Raphael has sent some comments by Norris Graser on the recently reviewed Zotz Decals 1/32 scale markings for the P-47N. This new information has been added to the review.

• Lynn Ritger advises that a live online registration component has been added to the 2008 IPMS USA Nationals website, along with a few other enhancements including updated category sponsors, display information, and more. Check it out!

• Helmut Scherer is back, this tme with his Trumpeter 1/32 scale F-100D Super Sabre. Seven images have been posted to the Gallery.

• We have six images of Michael Prince's 1/32 scale Hawker Sea Fury FB.11 from Fisher Model and Pattern. This model was photographed at last weekend's NSW Scale Model Expo.

• I spent some time at the NSW Scale Model Expo this weekend, hosted by the Illawarra Plastic Modellers' Association. Amongst the models was Jeff Thompson's 1/48 scale Hasegawa F/A-18F Super Hornet, which received the "Peoples' Choice" award.

• Haris Ali has sent three images of his 1/32 scale Montex Gloster Gamecock for the Gallery.

• After removing his Podcast due to extreme download bandwidth last week, Michael Scott has re-posted the interview from the IPMS USA 2007 Nationals to Rapidshare. You may follow this link if you missed the interview the first time around.

• Gaston Bernal, founder of Aeromaster Decals, is obviously enjoying his retirement judging by his collection of eleven Focke-Wulf 190 models. Gaston has sent a first installment of 16 images of his Wurgers for the Gallery.

• Tonight I review two new 1/32 scale decal sets from Zotz - "P-47 Razorback in the PTO" and "P-47 Razorback in the ETO". Images of the covers, instructions and decal sheets are included with the review.
